The illustrations that Jim provided us with were exactly what we were looking for. He completely interpreted our ideas and turned them into a reality. The illustrations/ cartoons were meant to add a humorous element to a very important topic, and as our publications are targeted at young people, the cartoons helped us get the message across in a visual way. Response to our booklets has been very positive, with some young persons organizations in Lanarkshire choosing to use our booklets as their only resource as the young people that they work with can really identify with the style in which they are produced.
Demand for our resources has soared, and thanks to Jim’s illustrations, our organization is now known for the excellent resources that we produce. Due to the increase in demand, we are now hoping to start selling our booklets to generate some income for the organization. Over 1000 copies of the “Doin it” booklet have been distributed although that booklet is quite specialized. So far we’ve given out a couple of hundred copies of the “Oot yer face” in the past 6 weeks alone. The drug booklet is more generalized and I would expect the distribution to be the widest of the 3 booklets, but they are all very popular and we’re getting a lot of requests for them.
